SHALLOTTE, N.C. – As the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade celebrates 150 years, five girls from West Brunswick High School plan to participate.

The girls will be collaborating with more than 2,000 other dancers from around the country to perform in the parade. All of the dancers were selected while attending different dance camps throughout the year.

"Oh yeah, we are really excited," West Brunswick senior Suzannah Harrelson said.

One of the dancers said dancing on the streets of New York is a dream come true.

"Every morning I remember waking up on Thanksgiving and watching the Macy's parade and I have always wanted to go to it," West Brunswick junior Julianne Donoghue said. "And then when the opportunity came to dance in it, none of us could pass it up."

The five girls learned their moves from studying a dance DVD, but they are looking forward to doing the routine with the group.

"It will be fun, we will probably get to learn off of them and see how other teams work and compare ourselves to them," West Brunswick senior Hanna Gaskins said.

The girls have been practicing their routine for three weeks and now they're ready to take their moves to the streets of New York.

"I am really excited and every time I think about it, it's like awestruck," West Brunswick senior Anna Barefoot said.

The girls will be a part of the first routine in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
