The FBI said the "Bearded Bank Robber" has struck again, and agents have new information about him. He hit a Bank of Granite in the Morrison Shopping Center on Sharon Road just before 9:30 Friday morning.

Police say a teen was shot in the face Thursday night during a break-in in Gastonia. Investigators said three men broke into a home on Fourth Street and taped up a 15-year-old and 16-year-old, and shot the 16-year-old in the face.

Two suspects were charged with a shooting in Cabarrus County. The 15-year-old victim called 911 and said he had been shot in the chest at his home in Harrisburg, N.C. The victim was taken to the hospital.

The Carolina Hurricanes are keeping Chad LaRose with a two-year deal. The Hurricanes on Thursday said they signed the popular forward to a contract that will pay him $1.5 million in the upcoming season and $1.9 million in 2010-11.

Public utility officials have solved the mystery behind a purported "sewer creature" seen in an online video taken under Cameron Village in Raleigh. The pulsing sac seen on video from a sewer pipe inspection is actually a worm colony.
